US FlagUS/Silver Spring: King’s Hawaiian, a Los Angeles establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of its King’s Hawaiian branded Pretzel Slider Buns, Pretzel Hamburger Buns and Pretzel Bites products from the American marketplace due to the potential for microbial contamination, including Cronobacter Sakazakii, with consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Pretzel products may have been marketed, distributed and sold in all US states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information..

According to the FDA, King’s Hawaiian has recalled certain batch/lots of its King’s Hawaiian branded Pretzel Slider Buns, Pretzel Hamburger Buns and Pretzel Bites products from the American marketplace due to the potential for microbial contamination, including Cronobacter Sakazakii. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Pretzel products identified above.

This recall was initiated due to the reported use of an ingredient used in its Pretzel products from Lyons Magnus, a primary ingredient supplier. Lyons Magnus has recalled this ingredient due to the potential of microbial contamination including Cronobacter sakazakii and Clostridium botulinum. 

==> For information about Cronobacter Sakazakii and/or Clostridium botulinum poisoning, please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled King’s Hawaiian branded Pretzel Slider Buns, Pretzel Hamburger Buns and Pretzel Bites, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Pretzel products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Cronobacter Sakazakii or Clostridium botulinum.
