Food Recall: Circle K Classic Potato Chips

Canada/Ottawa: Olde York Potato Chips, a Brampton Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Circle K branded Classic Potato Chips from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Snack Food products are subject to this recall:

  • Circle K branded Classic Potato Chips, sold in 66 gram bags with a best-before date code of 2023 JA 11 1A8 21:45 or 2023 JA 11 1A8 23:10 with a UPC of 1 94283 10103 2

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Potato Chip products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Ontario although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Circle K Food Stores.jpgAccording to the CFIA, Olde York Potato Chips has recalled certain batch/lots of Circle K branded Classic Potato Chips from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Milk. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Snack Foods identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Circle K branded Classic Potato Chips and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
