Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Jenjo Games Pty Ltd., a Laverton North, Victoria establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Wooden Bead Octagon Toy Sets from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’ and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Wooden Bead Octagon Toy Sets are subject to this recall:

  • Jenjo Games Wooden Bead Octagon Toy Sets consisting of ten (10) different puzzles and activities with two (2) dice, sixteen (16) tokens, four (4) animal shape blocks and three (3) shape blocks and an APN/barcode of 9354985000069

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wooden Bead Octagon Toy Sets are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states although it is always possible these Toy products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Jenjo Games Pty has recalled all current batch/lots of its Jenjo Games Wooden Bead Octagon Toy Sets from the Australian marketplace due to the reported finding that the Toys fail to comply without Australia’s requirements of the mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Jenjo Games Wooden Bead Octagon Toy Sets, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near the Toys. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat laceration, GI tract laceration damage and/or bowel obstruction.
