Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Happy Craft Supplies, a Pakenham, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of LED Night Lights from the Australian marketplace due to suspected defective accessory closure with suspected component detachment and release of “button” batteries with consequential risks of internal burns, choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following LED Night Lights are subject to this recall:

  • Happy Craft Supplies LED Night Lights, consisting of a night light with acrylic diffuser affixed to a black and white base and supplied with a remote control containing one (1) button battery

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These LED Night Lights were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these lighting products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Happy Craft Supplies has recalled certain batch/lots of LED Night Light from the Australian marketplace due to suspected defective accessory closure with suspected component detachment. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should use the recalled LED Night Lights identified above.

In general, if glass, plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Happy Craft Supplies LED Night Lights, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Small “button” batteries pose special ingestion risks to small children. Devices using them in the home or school should be closely examined and monitored for any breakage or other unintended access that could allow these batteries to be swallowed or otherwise ingested.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat internal burns, choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and sepsis.
