Drug Recall: Sask Prairie Dill Pickle Flavoured Vodka

Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Minhas Sask Ventures Inc.,Minhas Sask Ventures Inc., a Regina, Saskatchewan establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Sask Prairie branded Dill Pickle Flavoured Vodka from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected glass fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Vodka products are subject to this recall:

  • Sask Prairie branded Dill Pickle Flavoured Vodka, sold in 750 ml bottles with a batch/lot of 2022-078 and a UPC of 0 62811 60018 3

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Vodka products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Ontario, although it is always possible these Alcohol products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Minhas Sask Ventures has recalled certain batch/lots of Sask Prairie branded Dill Pickle Flavoured Vodka from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected glass fragment contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Alcoholic Beverages identified above.

In general, if glass, plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm drug poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food or drug, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect beverages.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Sask Prairie branded Dill Pickle Flavoured Vodka products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the Vodka to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and sepsis.
