Canada/Ottawa: Imperial Tobacco Canada Limited, a West Montreal, Québec establishment and subsidiary of British American Tobacco Mexico, SA DE CV, a Mexico establishment, recalls an estimated 10,146,446 packages of Player’s Cigarettes from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected failure to meet Canadian performance standards required by the Cigarette Ignition Propensity (Consumer Products) Regulations under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and consequential risks of fire, burns, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.
