Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: ALDI Stores, a Prestons, New South Wales establishment and subsidiary of German food conglomerate ALDI Süd, recalls all current batch/lots of Reese’s branded Dipped Pretzels from the Australian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

  • Reese’s baked Dipped Pretzels, consisting of bite-sized pretzels dipped in peanut butter candy and drizzled with milk chocolate, packaged in 120 gram plastic pouches; affected batch/lots: all batch codes and all current best-before dates.

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Reese’s branded Dipped Pretzels were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from ALDI stores in the Australian states of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia as well as the Australian Capital Territory, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, ALDI Stores has recalled all current batch/lots of Reese’s branded Dipped Pretzels from the Australian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Peanuts. As a result of these reported defects and associated risks, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Baked Goods products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Reese’s branded Dipped Pretzels and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
