Food Recall: Trader Joe’s Caesar Salad with White Chicken

US FlagUS/Washington: The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”), a statutory regulatory and food safety authority, warns against the consumption of certain batch/lots of Trader Joe’s Caesar Salad with White Chicken Meat with separate Creamy Caesar Dressing products due to suspected mislabeling and/or mispackaging and consequential undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Trader Joe’s Caesar Salad products were reportedly produced July 5, 2022 and are subject to warning:

  • Trader Joe’s Caesar Salad with White Chicken Meat with separate Creamy Caesar Dressing, sold in 9-ounce plastic clamshell containers with best-by dates of 07/11/22 or 07/12/22, and a batch/lot code of GHNW 186-06.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this warning notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and wholesale presentation. One additional image of the recalled Caesar Salad with White Chicken Meat products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Trader Joe’s Caesar Salad with White Chicken Meat products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-46987” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to Trader Joe’s locations in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the Salads products identified above.

Logo - Trader Joe'sThis Public Health Warning was initiated after the producing establishment notified the FSIS that it was informed by a store that the Salad Dressing packets in the Caesar Salads appeared incorrect. Specifically, the Dressing Packets with the subject Salads contain Sweet and Spicy Vinaigrette and not the Creamy Caesar Dressing as listed. These Dressing Packets are unlabeled and contain Egg, an ingredient not declared on the finished product packaging.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Trader Joe’s Caesar Salad with White Chicken Meat products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the Salads to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: while these Caesar Salad products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products during July 2022, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.
