According to the ACCC, IKEA Pty has recalled certain batch/lots of METALLISK Espresso Makers due to suspected component failure with consequential risks of burns, scalds, respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage.

Specifically, the recalled Espresso Maker’s Safety Valve may not function properly and cause the product to burst. If this defect occurs, it can cause a sudden separation between the top and lower halves of the Espresso Maker, exposing the user and those nearby to hot, scalding liquids and/or dangerous steam.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat burns, scalds and/or lacerations.
