Food Recall: Lao Beijing Drinkable Yogurt

Canada/Ottawa: Logo - HZ Foods Inc.HZ Foods Inc., a Mississauga, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Lao Beijing branded Drinkable Yogurt from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Mould/Mold contamination and consequential risks of infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Dairy products are subject to this recall:

  • Lao Beijing branded Drinkable Yogurt – Mango flavor, sold in 200 mL containers with a best-before date code of 2022 JN 26 and a UPC of 6 28055 67430 6
  • Lao Beijing branded Drinkable Yogurt – Peach flavor, sold in 200 mL containers with a best-before date code of 2022 JN 26 and a UPC of 6 28055 67424 5
  • Lao Beijing branded Drinkable Yogurt – Plain flavor, sold in 200 mL containers with a best-before date code of 2022 JN 26 and a UPC of 6 28055 67423 8
  • Lao Beijing branded Drinkable Yogurt – Strawberry flavor, sold in 200 mL containers with a best-before date code of 2022 JN 26 and a UPC of 6 28055 67425 2

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Dairy products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Ontario, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Canadian Food Inspection Agency ("CFIA")According to the CFIA, HZ Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Lao Beijing branded Drinkable Yogurt from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Mould contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dairy products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lao Beijing branded Drinkable Yogurt products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Mould/Mold contamination.
