US FlagUS/Washington: Creminelli Fine Meats, a Salt Lake City, Utah establishment, recalls an estimated 4,207 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Parmesan Salami Sticks from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg Lysozyme, an Egg White Protein, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Parmesan Salami products were packaged on various dates ranging from October 26, 2021 to April 26, 2022 and are subject to this recall:

  • Creminelli Fine Meats Salami Minis Uncured Italian Salami Parmesan, packaged in 2.6-oz. plastic pouches with a best-by date ranging from 06/18/22 through 12/09/22

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Creminelli Fine Meats Salami Minis Uncured Italian Salami Parmesan were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in retail locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts and Utah, and sold through Web sales US nationwide, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the USDA, Creminelli Fine Meats has recalled an estimated 4,207 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Parmesan Salami Sticks from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg Lysozyme, an Egg White Protein. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Parmesan Salami products identified above.

The recall was initiated after inspection personnel during a routine label verification review. Egg White Lysozyme, a component of the Parmesan Cheese Ingredient, is not declared on the final product label.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Creminelli Fine Meats Salami Minis Uncured Italian Salami Parmesan products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
