European Union Recalls 22 Products, Toys & Vehicles

Among the twenty-two (22) recalls the European Union announced in its fourth (and final) report of June 2022, the following recall notification was made:

G21 branded Přímočará Pila Children's Jig Saw Toys

G21 branded Přímočará Pila Children’s Jig Saw Toys, sold with a model designation of 60026315 and an EAN/barcode of 8595627418427. This recall alert was submitted by Czechia (formerly, the Czech Republic) to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/00895/22.

These G21 branded Přímočará Pila Children’s Jig Saw Toys were marketed, sold and delivered as children’s toys designed to imitate real power tools used to cut wood and other materials for fabrication into larger projects. The recalled Children’s Toys require two (2) 1.5 Volt AA-sized batteries to operate.

The Přímočará Pila Children’s Jig Saw Toys were yellow and black in color and displayed in similar packaging consisting of a rectangular cardboard box with transparent window through which the Toy can be seen and test-operated in a “try-me” mode.

No manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazards reported in the recalled G21 branded Přímočará Pila Children’s Jig Saw Toys include the report that the solder joint in the Toy contains an excessive concentration of Lead and Cadmium (measured values up to 77.2% and 0.1495% by weight, respectively). Lead and Cadmium pose a risk to the environment. In addition, if the Toy is opened and the Lead is handled and/or ingested by a child, there is a risk of mutagenic, developmental and intellectual defects.

As a consequence, utilizing this product in a reasonable manner expected with their intended design and anticipated use, the environment could be damaged, including local water supply pollution. As well, the child himself or herself could suffer serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, the recalled G21 branded Přímočará Pila Children’s Jig Saw Toys reportedly do not comply with the health and safety requirements of the European Commission Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, specifically the RoHS 2 Directive.

Consequently, a withdrawal of these recalled G21 branded Přímočará Pila Children’s Jig Saw Toys from end users within the European marketplace has been issued. You should not market, sell or use these recalled Cosmetic products.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled G21 branded Přímočará Pila Children’s Jig Saw Toys, please do not allow your child to play with or near them. Instead, kindly return the Toys to the store or online outlet where you purchased them for a refund.

If you have a medical emergency, please contact 1-1-2, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis, respiratory impairment and/or cardiac injury.
