US FlagCanada FlagUS/Bethesda & Canada/Ottawa: Sienhua Group (North America) Inc., an Arlington, Texas establishment recalls an estimated total 617,500 WarmWave and Hunter branded Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heaters (approximately 580,000 in the US and approximately 37,580 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to overheating hazard and consequential risks of burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain WarmWave and Hunter 18 inch 1,500-Watt Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heaters, under license to Sienhua Group (North America) and sold by Amazon.com, eBay and other Web sites in the US and Home Depot Canada Inc. in Canada, as follows:

  • This recall involves certain WarmWave and Hunter 18-inch tall, 1,500-Watt Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heaters, produced under license to Sienhua Group (North America). Each of the recalled Heaters are black in color and come with an automatic shutoff and two (2) heat settings. A model number of HPQ15G-M can be found on the silver ETL label on the bottom of the Heater.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the firm has received eight (8) customer reports of fire at the Plug or Cord and dozens of customer reports of the Plug or Cord overheating. There have been no reports of injury or death but there has been one (1) report of minor property damage.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled WarmWave and/or Hunter Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heaters, please do not use them. Instead, kindly unplug the Heater, and follow the instructions online at http://www.homeproductservice.com/recall on how to properly cut the electrical cord to make the unit unusable, and contact the distributor, Sienhua Group (North America), to receive a prorated refund. Alternatively, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a refund.

Warning: It is important to UNPLUG the recalled Heater before cutting the electrical cord. Failure to unplug the unit while it is electrically live could result in shock, electrocution, burns and death.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse.
