According to the CPSC, this recall was initiated because these recalled over-the-counter (“OTC”) products contain regulated substances, specifically, Acetaminophen, a substance that must be sold and stored in child resistant packaging as required by the US Poison Prevention Packaging Act (“PPPA”). The packaging of these recalled Walgreen branded Pain Relief products are reportedly not child resistant, posing a poisoning risk if the contents are swallowed by young children.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Walgreens branded Acetaminophen Pain Reliever products, please do not use them. Instead, immediately store the product in a safe location out of the reach of children and contact Walgreens for information on how to dispose of or return the product and receive a full refund.
