US FlagUS/Washington: The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”), a statutory regulatory and food safety authority, issues a Public Heath Warning against the consumption of certain batch/lots of Great Value Black Forest Ham Water Added produced by Plumrose USA, doing business as Swift Prepared Foods, a Council Bluffs, Iowa establishment from the American marketplace due to suspected underprocessing and/or undercooking and consequential risks of bacterial and/or viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Pork products are subject to this Public Health Warning:

  • Great Value Black Forest Ham Water Added, sold in one (1)-pound resealable plastic packages with a best-if-used-by date of 07/15/22 and a UPC of 0-78742-19423-3

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Pork products can be found on the Web site above.

These Great Value Black Forest Ham products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from Walmart stores in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the USDA, its Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) has issued a Public Heath Warning against the consumption of certain batch/lots of Great Value branded Black Forest Ham Water Added from the American marketplace due to suspected underprocessing and/or undercooking. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Pork products identified above.

The product subject to this Public Health Alert bears establishment number “EST. 26C” inside the USDA mark of inspection

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Great Value branded Black Forest Ham, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial and/or viral poisonings.
