The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Apple and Peanut Butter Snacks are subject to this recall:

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Quick Chek branded Apple and Peanut Butter Snacks were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from Quick Chek retail stores in the US state of New Jersey, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Safeway Fresh Foods, doing business as Sunnyside Fresh, has recalled certain batch/lots of Quick Chek branded Apple and Peanut Butter Snacks the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contaminationAs a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Apple and Peanut Butter Snacks identified above.

This recall was initiated after it was confirmed that the Apple and Peanut Butter Snacks contain Jif Peanut Butter, an ingredient currently at the center of a North America wide recall due to suspected Salmonella contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

This product, and others like it, contain a foodstuff that has been recalled by its manufacturer, The J. M. Smucker Co., as part of its North American recall involving various types, varieties and serving sizes of Jif branded Peanut Butter.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Quick Chek branded Apple and Peanut Butter Snacks, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Snacks to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
