Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Canadian Food Inspection Agency ("CFIA")Tri-Star Seafood Supply Ltd., a Richmond, British Columbia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Tri-Star Seafood Supply branded Live Spot Prawn products and Unbranded branded Fresh Spot Prawns from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Norovirus contamination and consequential risks of viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Seafood products are subject to this recall:

  • Tri-Star Seafood Supply Ltd. branded Live Spot Prawns, sold in variable sized packages with a production code of ACA001-1542
  • Unbranded Fresh Spot Prawns, all units sold at Tri-Star Seafood Supply Ltd., 11751 Voyageur Way, Richmond, BC, from May 20, 2022 to May 21, 2022
  • Unbranded Fresh Spot Prawn sold at Deluxe Seafood Vancouver Ltd., #106-366 East Kent Ave. S, Vancouver, BC, from May 20, 2022 up to and including May 24, 2022

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Prawn Seafood products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Ontario, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Tri-Star Seafood Supply has recalled certain batch/lots of Tri-Star Seafood Supply branded Live Spot Prawn products as well as Unbranded branded Fresh Spot Prawn products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Norovirus contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Seafood products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Live Spot Prawns, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the Seafood to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
