US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Albertsons Companies, a Boise, Idaho establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Albertsons, Safeway, Lucky, Haggen, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Tom Thumb, United, Amigos, Market Street, Albertsons Market, Andronico’s Community Markets, Vons, Pak ‘N Save, Shaw’s, Star Market, Randalls, Jewel-Osco, ACME, King’s and Balducci’s Snacks containing Jif Peanut Butter from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Snacks containing Peanut Butter are subject to this recall:

  • Albertsons, Safeway and Lucky branded Apples Slices with Peanut Butter, sold in 8-ounce containers; affected batch/lots: all sell-thru dates up to and including May 24, 2022
  • Albertsons, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Lucky and Safeway branded Celery & Peanut Butter Cups, sold in 7-ounce containers; affected batch/lots: all sell-thru dates up to and including May 26, 2022
  • Haggen branded Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, sold in 5-ounce containers; affected batch/lots: all sell-thru dates up to and including July 20, 2022

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Snacks containing Jif Peanut Butter were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in numerous US states where the Albertsons group of companies operates, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Albertsons Group has recalled certain batch/lots of Albertsons, Safeway, Lucky, Haggen, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Tom Thumb, United, Amigos, Market Street, Albertsons Market, Andronico’s Community Markets, Vons, Pak ‘N Save, Shaw’s, Star Market, Randalls, Vons, Jewel-Osco, ACME, King’s and Balducci’s Snacks containing Jif Peanut Butter from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Snacks identified above.

This product, and others like it, has been recalled by its manufacturer, The J. M. Smucker Co., as part of its North American recall involving various types, varieties and serving sizes of Jif branded Peanut Butter. Instead, return the Snacks to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
