US/Bethesda: NewCosplay, a Chinese establishment, recalls an estimated 3,160 NewCosplay Children’s Robes from the American marketplace due to suspected violation of US Federal Flammability Standards and consequential risks of burns, scalds, and/or other life-changing injuries, all serious conditions requiring immediate medical attention.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain styles of Baopteil branded Children’s Robes, as follows:
- NewCosplay Children’s Robes, marketed, sold and delivered in the United States as children’s long-sleeved robes made of 100% micro Polyester and were sold in sizes 3T through 12. The recalled robes were sold in 22 different patterns and have a sewn-in side seam belt, two (2) functional front pockets and a hood that is character themed with a mane, ears and horn. The sewn-in neck label displays the fiber content, washing instructions and a country of origin designation of “Made in China”. The sewn-in side seam label displays the garment’s size.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.
According to the CPSC, the recalled Robes fail to meet the US Federal Flammability Standards for Children’s Sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.
Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Children’s Robes, please take the recalled Robes away from the child’s wardrobe and restrict access to them. Instead, kindly please contact NewCosplay for a full refund. Consumers who purchased the Robes from Amazon.com will be contacted by Amazon and NewCosplay directly.
