The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following cocktail sauce products are subject to this recall:
- Suzie’s branded Organic Cocktail Sauce, packaged in 237 ml (8-ounce) squeeze bottles with a best-if-used-by date code of 10/07/22 and a UPC of 0 47281 20142 9
Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.
==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.
These cocktail sauce products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.
According to the CFIA, Canadian Choice Wholesalers has recalled certain batch/lots of Suzie’s branded Organic Cocktail Sauce from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Spoilage and possible bacterial contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled cocktail sauce products identified above.
==> For information about Botulism, E. Coli Poisoning, Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning) or Salmonellosis (Salmonella poisoning) please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.
==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Suzie’s branded Organic Cocktail Sauce, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings.
