Canada/Ottawa: Logo - Mantab Inc.Mantab Inc., a Dorval, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Below Zero branded Individually Quick Frozen (“IQF”) Whole Raspberries from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Norovirus contamination and consequential risks of viral infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Frozen Whole Raspberries are subject to this recall:

  • Below Zero branded Whole Raspberries, Individually Quick Frozen (“IQF”), sold in one (1) kilogram packages with a batch/Lot number of XT21253, a PO number of M14475, a best-before date code of 2023-SE-09 and a UPC of 0 69821 06020 4

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Below Zero branded Whole Raspberries were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Mantab has recalled certain batch/lots of Below Zero branded Individually Quick Frozen (“IQF”) Whole Raspberries from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Norovirus contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Frozen Raspberries identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Below Zero branded Frozen Whole Raspberries, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the fruit to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat viral poisonings such as Norovirus.
