==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Magnetic Ball Toys may be marketed, distributed and sold in all Canadian provinces, although it is always possible these toy products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

If a child swallows more than one small high powered Magnet, components of these Toys can stick together across the walls of the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries and even death. These Magnets may need emergency surgical intervention to remove. Further, the Magnets may pose a choking hazard to young children due to small parts. Even post ingestion, survivors can have long-term health consequences requiring medical care and rehabilitation.

Health Canada suggests the following:

  • Immediately stop using these Magnet Toy Sets, check that all pieces are accounted for, then safely dispose of the products.
  • Do not purchase products with easily accessible small powerful magnets.
  • Do not allow children to play with small items that contain powerful magnets, even with adult supervision.
  • Teach children of all ages that magnets and items containing magnets should never be placed in their mouth, nose or ears. Even older children have unintentionally swallowed magnets. This can happen when they use them as fake tongue or cheek piercings, attach them to braces or separate magnets with their teeth.
  • Seek immediate medical attention for any child who has swallowed (or is suspected of having swallowed) one or more magnets.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled DigitDots Magnetic Balls, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis.
