According to the FDA, Mars Wrigley Confectionery US has recalled certain batch/lots of Skittles branded Gummies, Starburst branded Gummies and Life Savers branded Gummies from the American marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination, specifically very thin metal strand embedded in the Gummies or loose in the bag. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Gummies Confectionery identified above.

This recall was initiated after the company received numerous complaints from customers who reportedly found the metal fragments inside the Skittles branded Gummies, Starburst branded Gummies and Life Savers branded Gummies Confectionery products.

Proposed Remedy:
In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and sepsis.
