European Union Recalls 49 Products, Toys & Vehicles

Among the forty-nine (49) recalls the European Union announced in its first report of May 2022, the following recall notification was made:

Cambridge Mask Co branded Cambridge Mask PRO

Cambridge Mask Co branded Cambridge Mask PRO Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) Masks sold with a style designation of Churchill, a batch/lot code of 89NA202009 and a barcode/EAN of 5060437942156. This recall alert was submitted by Finland to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/00674/22.

These Cambridge Mask Co branded Cambridge Mask PRO Mask products were marketed, sold and delivered as consumer grade, washable black protective masks with an fabric exhalation valve and a Cambridge Mask Co logo. The product is sold with an adjustable ear loops, head strap and a foam nose seal.

The Cambridge Mask Co branded Cambridge Mask PRO Masks were reportedly individually packed in blue cardboard boxes. Please see the photographs at the left and below.

No manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazard reported in the recalled Cambridge Mask Co branded Cambridge Mask PRO Masks is that the total filtration capacity of the mask is reportedly insufficient for use. Cambridge Mask Co. claims this product “filters 99.6% of all viruses and 99.7% of bacteria” on its Web site. EU testing, however, has found significantly lower filtration ratings, specifically measured values as low as 85%.

As a consequence, utilizing this product in a reasonable manner expected with their intended design and anticipated use, a user of these recalled Cambridge Mask PRO Masks can suffer serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, the recalled Cambridge Mask Co branded Cambridge Mask PRO Mask products reportedly do not comply with the health and safety requirements of Europe’s Personal Protective Equipment Regulation as well as the European standard EN 149.

Consequently, a withdrawal of the Cambridge Masks products from the European marketplace has been ordered. You should not market, sell or use these recalled protective protective mask products.

Logo - Cambridge Mask Co.If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cambridge Mask Co branded Cambridge Mask PRO Masks, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or online outlet where you purchased them for a refund.
