US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Dymski Pierogies, doing business as Grandma’s Cuisine, an East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania establishment, recalls numerous varieties of Frozen Cheese-Filled Pierogis from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Frozen Pierogi products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold as follows:

  • The Bernat’s branded Pierogis were distributed from retail stores in Massachusetts between April 2021 and April 2022
  • The Golden Eagle branded Pierogis were distributed from retail stores in New Jersey between April 2021 and April 2022
  • The Grandma’s Cuisine branded Pierogis were distributed in Restaurant Depot chain stores and local retail stores in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania between April 2021 and April 2022

When in doubt about distribution in additional states, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Dymski Pierogies doing business as Grandma’s Cuisine has recalled numerous varieties of Frozen Cheese-Filled Pierogis from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Milk. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Pierogis identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Bernat’s, Golden Eagle and Grandma’s Cuisine branded Frozen Cheese-Filled Pierogis and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
