European Union Recalls 41 Products, Toys & Vehicles

Among the forty-one (41) recalls the European Union announced in its fifth (and final) report of April 2022, the following recall notification was made:

Dm Réell'e Expert branded Permanente Coloration Hair Dye Color

Dm Réell’e Expert branded Permanente Coloration Hair Dye Color sold with a tint number of 9.1 or 10.1 and a batch/lot code of 256884, 256885 or 258466. This recall alert was submitted by Germany to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/00627/22.

These Dm Réell’e Expert branded Permanente Coloration Hair Dye products were marketed, sold and delivered as consumer grade hair coloring chemicals designed to alter or maintain women’s hair color. In this case, the recalled Hair Color came in two (2) color tints, Beige and Light Ash Blonde, indicated by the code numbers 9.1 and 10.1, respectively.

The Réell’e branded Hair Color products were reportedly sold in rectangular boxes with a squeeze bottle and tubes of chemicals that are combined, mixed and shaken by the user prior to application to the hair and scalp. Please see the photographs at the left and below for product packaging details.

No EANs/barcodes, UPCs, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazard reported in the recalled Dm Réell’e Expert branded Permanente Coloration Hair Dye products is that during mixing, pressure can build up in the plastic bottle caused by the generation of Hydrogen Peroxide. When the bottle is subsequently opened prior to application, the contents under pressure may spurt up and out of the bottle and cause eye, face and/or mouth injuries. If the included gloves are not worn during this step, this defect can also lead to burns on the hand and/or wrist.

As a consequence, utilizing these products in a reasonable manner expected with their intended design and anticipated use, a user of the recalled Hair Color Dyes products can suffer serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, the recalled Dm Réell’e Expert branded Permanente Coloration Hair Dye Color reportedly do not comply with the health and safety requirements of Europe’s Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Consequently, a withdrawal of the Hair Dye Color products from customers in Europe has been ordered. You should not market, sell or use these recalled protective smartwatch products.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dm Réell’e Expert branded Permanente Coloration Hair Dye Color products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or online outlet where you purchased it for a refund.

If you have a medical emergency, please contact 1-1-2, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat burn damage, skin irritation and mitigate risks of respiratory and/or cardiac injury.
