US FlagUS/Washington: Lakeside Refrigerated Services, a Swedesboro, New Jersey establishment, recalls an estimated 120,872 pounds of Marketside Butch, Nature’s Reserve, SEG, Tajima and Thomas Farms branded Ground Beef products from the American marketplace due to suspected Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O103 contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Marketside Butch, Nature’s Reserve, SEG, Tajima, Thomas Farms branded Ground Beef were produced on or about February 1, 2022, through April 8, 2022 and are subject to this recall:

==> No barcodes, UPCs, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and wholesale presentation. Additional images of the recalled Nature’s Reserve, Marketside Butch, SEG, Tajima, Thomas Farms Ground Beef can be found on the Web site above.

These Ground Beef products may have been marketed, distributed and sold in the all US states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the USDA, Lakeside Refrigerated Services has recalled an estimated 120,872 pounds of Nature’s Reserve, Marketside Butch, SEG, Tajima, Thomas Farms branded Ground Beef products from the American marketplace due to suspected Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) O103 contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Beef identified above.

This recall was initiated after routine United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) testing of the imported Ground Beef. There have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Ground Beef products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: while these Ground Beef products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products during the period February 1, 2022 to April 27, 2022, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Escherichia coli.
