Australia/Canberra: Malt Brewing Co Pty Ltd. trading as Revel Brewing Co., a Bulimba, Brisbane, Queensland establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Revel Brewing Co branded Pine Lime Sour Ale Beer products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected secondary fermentation and consequential exploding cans caused by increased Carbon Dioxide production with risks of inadvertent alcohol intoxication, eye damage and/or laceration, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Alcoholic Beer products are subject to this recall:

• Revel Brewing Co Pine Lime Sour Ale Beer, sold in packs of four (4) by 375 ml metal cans and sixteen (16) by 375 ml metal cans with a packaged-on date code of 27.1.2022 (i.e., January 1, 2022) and a batch/lot code of E-276

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Beer’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the potential for the cans of Revel Brewing Co Pine Lime Sour Ale Beer products to unexpectedly pop open or rupture due to ongoing secondary fermentation. Consequently, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Beer products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Revel Brewing Co Pine Lime Sour Ale Beer products, please do not open nor consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly drink or open this product, and should dispose of it safely. Please contact Revel Brewing Co for safe disposal instructions and to arrange for a refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat lacerations and/or eye injury.
