US FlagUS/Washington: The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”), a statutory regulatory and food safety authority, issues a Public Health Warning against consuming certain batch/lots of Taylor Farms New England Inc. ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Freshly Made Meals with Chicken Breast Meat and Hannaford Freshly Made Meals with Chicken Breast Meat in the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy and Wheat, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Salad Meals were produced March 19, 2022 to March 22, 2022 and are subject to this recall:

  • Freshly Made Salads with Chicken Breast Meat, packaged in 11.55-ounce plastic trays with sell-by dates ranging from 03/26/22 to 03/29/22, and batch/lot codes of TFNE078, TFNE079, TFNE080, and TFNE081
  • Hannaford Freshly Made Salads with Chicken Breast Meat, packaged in 11.55-ounce plastic trays with sell-by dates ranging from 03/26/22 to 03/29/22, and batch/lot codes of TFNE078, TFNE079, TFNE080, and TFNE081

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Taylor Farms New England Inc. ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Freshly Made Salad Meals with Chicken Breast Meat and Hannaford Freshly Salad Made Meals with Chicken Breast Meat were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the USDA, its Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) has issued a Public Health Warning against consuming certain batch/lots of Taylor Farms New England Inc. ready-to-eat (“RTE”) Freshly Made Meals with Chicken Breast Meat and Hannaford Freshly Made Meals with Chicken Breast Meat in the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Soy and Wheat. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Chicken Salad Meals identified above.

The products bear establishment number “P-46638” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

This recall initiated when the producing establishment notified FSIS that they observed different seasonings than usual on the product labeled as grilled chicken breast while preparing the chicken meal kits.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Taylor Farms Freshly Made & Hannaford Meals with Chicken products and could be allergic to their Soy and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial Anaphylaxis.
