Toys branded Wooden Activity Walkers – Walk ‘n’ Learn style (approximately 16,834 in the US and approximately 2,360 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected component detachment and consequential risks of consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves B. Toys Wooden Activity Walker – Walk ‘n’ Learn, Wooden Toddler Walkers, as follows:

  • This recall involves B. Toys Wooden Activity Walkers – Walk ‘n’ Learn model, consisting of wooden toddler walkers that are wooden activity walkers with yellow-colored sides, blue wheels and multicolored activity features on the front of the Toy. The Toy’s name, “B. Toys Walk ‘n’ Learn” can be found printed on the packaging and label. Models BX2008 and BX2095 are similar and have an orange plastic backing while Model BX2126 has the same front but the back has been updated to only have a canvas base.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, Maison Battat has recalled an estimated total 19,194 B. Toys branded Wooden Activity Walkers from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected component detachment. In this case, the Wheels and Wheel Attachment Hardware can reportedly detach from the Walker in small pieces, posing consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis.

Maison Battat has received four (4) reports of the Wheels and Attachment Hardware detaching in the United States and two (2) reports of Wheels and Attachment Hardware detaching in Canada. Although no injuries had been reported at press time, the company has received one (1) report of a child putting a detached metal nut in her mouth.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled B. Toys branded Wooden Activity Walkers, please do not use them or let your child play with or near any of the recalled Walkers. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis.
