Belgium/Brussels:

Additional information:
Among the thirty-eight (38) recalls the European Union announced in its first report of March 2022, the following recall notification was made:
Nicomax branded Supervape Nicomax Nicotine Booster Liquids sold with a model number of D210706115246, a batch/lot designation of 01/2024 but no EAN/barcode number. This recall alert was submitted by Bulgaria to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/00365/22.
These Nicomax branded Supervape Nicomax Nicotine Booster Liquids are marketed, sold and delivered as liquids for consumer-grade e-cigarette devices, packaged in 10 ml plastic bottles, with a stated strength of 20 mg/ml and 50%PG/50% VG, and were available online.
No EANs/barcodes, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, model numbers, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.
The type of hazards presented in the recalled Nicotine Booster Liquids include the fact they contain the chemical Nicotine (20 mg/ml), but do not have an explanatory/warning leaflet providing the consumer of this substance with information about its safe and correct use.
This notification is particularly necessary in this case as Nicotine is acutely toxic and can endanger the user’s safety. Specifically, Nicotine is especially dangerous if it comes into contact with the skin or is ingested. Without the required explanatory/warning leaflet, users of these liquids could suffer serious, and potentially, life-threatening injuries.
Signs/symptoms of early phase Nicotine poisoning can include the following (not all are present in every case):
-
- Abdominal pain
- Ataxia (loss of full control of body movements), loss of balance, difficulty walking
- Diaphoresis (profound sweating)
- Headache and/or dizziness
- Hyperpnea (rapid, heavy breathing).
- Increased blood pressure
- Increased heart rate
- Increased salivation
- Muscle twitching
- Nausea and vomiting. (Vomiting occurs in more than 50% of people with symptoms)
- Pallor (pale skin color)
- Seizures
- Tremors
Signs/symptoms of late phase Nicotine poisoning can include the following (although, again, not all are necessarily present in every case). All of these are evidence of a serious, emergency condition, requiring immediate medical attention.
-
- Coma
- Diarrhea
- Heart Arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythms)
- Hypotension (low blood pressure) and Bradycardia (slow heart rate)
- Muscle weakness/paralysis
- Stridor, shallow breathing, difficulty breathing, respiratory failure.
- Shock
As a consequence, anyone utilizing these products in a reasonable manner expected with their intended design and anticipated use could suffer serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.
