US FlagUS/Washington: The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”), a statutory regulatory and food safety authority, issues formal Public Health Alert for various ready-to-eat (RTE) Meat Products containing a Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) regulated Seasoning Mix from PS Seasoning that has been recalled by the producer, PS Seasoning, an Iron Ridge, Wisconsin establishment, due to suspected mislabeling of a Seasoning Mix and consequential risks of undeclared Wheat, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following PS Seasoning Spiced Meat products are subject to this warming:

  • HBBQ Sticks, sold directly to consumers in generic bags from the fresh case of various weights with dates ranging from December 13, 2021 through February 18, 2022
  • HBBQ with Cheese, sold directly to consumers in generic bags from the fresh case of various weights with dates ranging from December 13, 2021 through February 18, 2022
  • Honey BBQ Beef Jerky, sold directly to consumers in generic bags from the fresh case of various weights with dates ranging from December 13, 2021 through February 18, 2022
  • LeRoy Meats & Catering Honey BBQ Snack Sticks, sold in 8.0-ounce plastic package with a date of 12/07/22 or 01/03/23 and a batch/lot designation of 22014210 or 22014110
  • LeRoy Meats & Catering Sweet n Sassy Snack Sticks, sold in 8.0-ounce plastic package with a date of 12/06/22, 12/07/22 or 01/03/23
  • Smokehouse Honey BBQ Flavored Meat Snack Sticks, sold in 2-ounce cryovac packages with a date of Aug 10, 2022, Aug 17, 2022, Sept 7, 2022 or Sept 15, 2022
  • Smokehouse Honey BBQ Flavored Meat Snack Sticks, sold in 8-ounce cryovac packages with a date of Aug 23, 2022 or Sept 7, 2022
  • Wyoming Authentic Honey BBQ Seasoned Angus Beef Bites, sold in 4.0-ounce plastic package with a best-by date code of 01 14 23 and a batch/lot designation of 22014210 or 22014110
  • Wyoming Authentic Honey BBQ Seasoned Angus Beef Stick, sold in 1.0-ounce plastic package with a best-by date code of 01 14 23 and a batch/lot designation of 22014210 or 22014110

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The products are from various establishments and bear establishment number “EST. 44972”, “EST. 46312”, or “EST. 44869” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The retail products from “EST. M-47484” do not bear a USDA mark of inspection. Some of the products were distributed US nationwide.

Meats seasoned with PS Seasoning Spices may have been marketed, distributed and sold in the US states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

This Public Health Alert was issued when the FSIS inspected establishments received notification from their seasoning supplier that the Seasoning Mix, a product regulated by FDA, may contain undeclared Wheat. The establishments then notified FSIS of the issue.

According to the USDA, its Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) has issued a formal Public Health Alert for various ready-to-eat (RTE) Meat Products containing an FDA regulated Seasoning Mix from PS Seasoning that has been recalled by its producer, due to suspected mislabeling of a Seasoning Mix and consequential risks of undeclared Wheat. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Meat products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Meat products and could be allergic to their Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the distributor or wholesaler where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
