US/Bethesda: Baopteil, a Chinese establishment, recalls an estimated 3,800 Baopteil branded Children’s 100% Micro Polyester Fleece Robes sold exclusively by Amazon.com from the American marketplace due to suspected violation of US Federal Flammability Standards and consequential risks of burns, scalds, and/or other life-changing injuries, all serious conditions requiring immediate medical attention.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain styles of Baopteil branded Children’s Robes, as follows:

• Baopteil Children’s Robes, marketed, sold and delivered in the United States as children’s 100% Micro Polyester fleece robes. They were sold in various colors, patterns and in sizes ranging from 2T through 14 years. The long-sleeved, hooded robes have two (2) front pockets and a sewn-in, side-seam matching belt. The country of origin stated as “Made in China”, the size, the fiber content and the washing instructions can be found printed on a sewn-in, side-seam label.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Robes fail to meet the US Federal Flammability Standards for Children’s Sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Children’s Robes, please take the recalled Robes away from the child’s wardrobe and restrict access to them. Instead, kindly return the product to the online store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If you purchased the recalled Baopteil Children’s Robes from Amazon.com you will be contacted through Amazon’s messaging platform and provided pre-paid mailers to return the products for a full refund. You can also contact Baopteil to request a postage pre-paid mailer to return the products for a full refund using the e-mail address provided below.
