Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Youth All-Terrain Vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

  • Maxtrade’s Coolster Mountopz ATVs, Models 3050-B, 3050-C, 3125-B2, 3125-CX-2, 3125-CX-3, 3125-XR8-U2, 3150-CXC, 3150-DX-4, 3175-S2 and 3175-U. The recalled ATVs – intended for use by children aged 6, 10 and 12 years and older, or for teenagers – depending on the model, were sold in various trim colors. The brand, “Coolster” can be found stamped on the ATV’s Handlebar and the model number found printed in the center of the Rear Axle.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled ATV products can be found on the Web site listed above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, these Youth ATVs fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Mandatory ATV Safety Standard, including maximum speed limitations and other mandatory safety requirements.

Specifically, children can operate these ATVs above the maximum allowed speed, increasing the risk of a crash that can cause serious injuries. As a consequence, these Youth ATVs fail to meet the maximum speed limitations for vehicles intended for children ages 6, 10 and 12 years and older, or for teenagers, depending on the model set out by the Federal government. Additionally, for certain ATVs, the Parking Brakes do not prevent the movement of the vehicle. In general, ATVs that fail to meet the mandatory Federal safety requirements pose a risk of serious injury or death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Maxtrade’s Coolster Mountopz ATVs, please do not use them.
