Among the sixty-eight (68) recalls the European Union announced in its third report of January 2022, the following recall notification was made:

Lala's Baby Nursery Jelly - Lavender Chamomile

Lala’s branded Baby Nursery Jelly – Lavender Chamomile scent-formulation sold with a barcode/EAN of 8717931600316. This recall alert was submitted by Sweden to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A11/00016/22.

These Lala’s branded Baby Nursery Jelly products are marketed, sold and delivered as Lavender Chamomile calming medication products specially formulated for baby’s skin and intended to prevent dryness and flaking due to topical dehydration. The Jelly is sold in 386-gram clear plastic tubs that are rectangular in shape with a light purple colored plastic lid. The Nursery Jelly products were sold at retail and on the Web.

Please note: these Lala’s branded Baby Nursery Jelly products are also sold in different scent-formulations including:

    • Lala’s branded Baby Nursery Jelly – Regular (packaged with a pink lid)
    • Extra Dry (packaged with a light blue lid)
    • Shea Butter (packaged with a brown lid)
    • Fragrance Free (packaged with a white lid)

Only the Lavender Chamomile scent-formulation of this medicinal product (packaged with a purple lid) is currently subject to this recall.

Also please note: this product appears to be sold under the similar name of “Lala’s branded Baby Nursery Vaseline” under the identical barcode/EAN of 8717931600316

No DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, model numbers, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in the recalled Lala’s branded Baby Lavender Chamomile Nursery Jelly products include the reported finding that the Jelly may contain Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (“Lyral”), with CAS-nr 31906-04-4 / 51414-25-6. This chemical is a forbidden allergenic ingredient under EU regulation.

As a consequence, utilizing the product in a reasonable manner expected with their intended design and anticipated use could produce sensitizing reactions, localized dermatitis and exacerbation of Eczema.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, these Lala’s branded Baby Lavender Chamomile Nursery Jelly products do not reportedly comply with Europe’s Cosmetic Products Regulation.

As a result of these reported defects, a formal stop-sales order of the listed Lala’s branded Baby Lavender Chamomile Nursery Jelly products has been ordered.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lala’s branded Baby Lavender Chamomile Nursery Jelly products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
