==> For information about Sulfite/Sulphite Allergy, please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of Sulfites in the Dr Snack Goji Berry products, an ingredient not declared on the products label. The consumption of 10 milligrams of Sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain Sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of Sulfites. Analysis of the Dr. Snack Goji Berry products revealed they contained 13.6 milligrams per serving.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Goji Berry Food Treats and could be allergic to their Sulfites ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
