UK FlagUK/London: St Helen’s Farm, a Seaton Ross, York, England establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of St Helen’s Farm branded Goats Butter from the British marketplace due to possible metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Goats Butter products are subject to recall:

  • St Helen’s Farm branded Goats Butter, sold in 250 gram foil wrapped packages; affected batch/lots: all packages with a best-before date up to and including 13 March 2022

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Goats Butter products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, St Helen’s Farm has recalled all current batch/lots of St Helen’s Farm branded Goats Butter from the British marketplace due to possible metal fragment contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Goats Butter identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled St Helen’s Farm branded Goats Butter products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Goats Butter to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and/or bowel obstruction.
