Among the eight-two (82) recalls the NHTSA has announced in December comes news of the following:

Logo - Nissan North America, Inc.Nissan North America, Inc. (“Nissan”), a Franklin, Tennessee establishment and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company of Yokohama, Japan has recalled an estimated 24,793 model year 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Fuel System, Gasoline – Fuel Pump may overheat

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V957000 reports abnormal wear inside the Fuel Pump may cause it to overheat and fail.

According to the NHTSA, Fuel Pump failure may cause an Engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Proposed Remedy:
Authorized Nissan Dealers will replace the Fuel Pump Assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 26, 2022. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-867-7669 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. Nissan’s designation for this recall is R21B8.
