US FlagUS/Washington: Guangzhou Pearl River Plastic Hose Co. Ltd, a Guangzhou, China establishment and doing business as Pearl River, recalls an estimated 43,000 Pearl River Propane Hoses used on Propane Torches and Accessories from the American marketplace due to suspected structural defects and consequential risks of fuel leakage, fire, burns, scalds, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain branded Pearl River 3Q20 or 4Q20 Propane Hoses used in Propane Powered Torches and other Propane Accessories marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

  • Pearl River File No. 70177655 LP-Gas Hose Hp14 M.W.P 350 PSIG 1/4″ Standard CSA8.3&UL21 3Q20 T/P
  • Pearl River File No. 70177655 LP-GAS Hose HP14 M.W.P 350 PSIG 1/4″ Standard CSA8.3&UL21 4Q20 T/P

These Hoses can be sold as the following:

  • Flame King 500,000 BTU Weed Burner Torch, sold with an Pearl River item number of YSNPQ5000T or YSNPQ5000Ta
  • Flame King 320,000 BTU Propane Torch Kit, sold with an Pearl River item number of YSNAX1-061 or YSNAX1-061a
  • Flame King 340,000 BTU Propane Torch Kit with Ignitor, sold with an Pearl River item number of YSNAX1-078 or YSNAX1-078a
  • Flame King 4 ft QCC1 Propane Adapter Hose to 1 pound Appliance, sold with an Pearl River item number of ALGA09

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Propane Hoses can swell and rupture, allowing Propane Gas to leak, posing a fire hazard to the operator and/or those nearby who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pearl River Propane Hoses used on Propane Torches and Accessories, please do not use them. Instead, to obtain a free replacement Hose, please send a photograph of the Propane Hose cut in half so that it is no longer operable to the firm’s e-mail address along with a return mailing address to receive a free replacement Hose. Once Pearl River receives confirmation of the hose cut in half, consumers can throw away the cut hose.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory collapse.
