Kulki Magnetyczne branded Neomag5 Magnet Toys packaged in metal cans with a batch/lot designation of 202009 but no listed barcode/EAN. This recall alert was submitted by Poland to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/01775/21.

These Kulki Magnetyczne branded Neomag5 Magnet Toys are marketed, sold and delivered as colorful consumer-grade spherical magnets suitable for ornamental ad/or play purposes.

No EANs/barcodes, DINs, item numbers, best-before date codes, model numbers, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The type of hazards presented in the recalled Kulki Magnetyczne branded Neomag5 Magnet products include the reported finding that each of the small spheres that comprise the colorful matrix has a high magnetic flux.

If a child swallows more than one small high powered magnet, the magnets can stick together across the walls of the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries and even death. These magnets may need emergency surgical intervention to remove. Even after surgical removal, however, the person may suffer from long-term GI tract damage that may hamper or otherwise impair normal digestion, nutrition absorption and/or waste elimination. Further, the magnets may pose a choking hazard to young children due to small parts.

As a consequence, a child who utilizes any of the recalled Kulki Magnetyczne branded Neomag5 Magnet Toys in a manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use could experience life-changing injuries or even death.
