Among the forty-six (46) recalls the NHTSA has announced in December comes news of the following:

Logo - The Autocar Company, LLCThe Autocar Company, LLC (“Autocar”), a Birmingham, Alabama establishment and subsidiary of GVW Group, LLC of Highland Park, Illinois, has recalled 1,001 model year 2019-2022 Autocar Xpeditor and 2020-2022 Autocar Legend Industrial Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Fuel System, Diesel – Fuel Tubes may crack and leak fuel

NHTSA Safety Notification 21V956000 reports the Fuel Tubes between the Fuel Rail and the Injectors for Cylinders Four, Five, and Six may fatigue and crack, which can result in a high pressure fuel leak.

According to the NHTSA, a high pressure fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire, explosion, burns and/or smoke inhalation with consequential life-changing or life-ending results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, explosive impact injuries and/or smoke inhalation and/or respiratory injury.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Proposed Remedy:
Cummins will replace the Fuel Tubes, and install Vibration Isolators, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 7, 2022. Owners may contact Autocar Customer Service toll-free at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-976-3486. Autocar’s designation for this recall is ACX-2108 DC-2105.
