Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Taylor Fresh Foods Inc., a Salinas, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Taylor Farms branded Maple Bourbon Chopped Salad Kits from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Salad Kits are subject to this recall:

  • Taylor Farms branded Maple Bourbon Chopped Salad Kits, sold in 315 gram clear cello bags with a best-before date code of 2021 DE 11, a batch/lot code of TFRS328A17 and a UPC of 0 30223 06038 3

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled prepared Salad Kits can be found on the Web site above.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These prepared Salad Kits were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Taylor Fresh Foods Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of Taylor Farms branded Maple Bourbon Chopped Salad Kits from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled prepared Salad Kits identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Taylor Farms branded Maple Bourbon Chopped Salad Kits, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: while these prepared Salad Kits may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products on dates ranging from December 1, 2021 to December 14, 2021, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
