Australia/Canberra: UniqueDesignByJason, an Etsy establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Montessori Baby Rattles from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’ and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Montessori Baby Rattles are subject to this recall:

• UniqueDesignByJason Montessori Baby Rattles consisting of a rod-shaped wooden rattles with a nickel-coloured ball at each end

==> No barcodes, APNs, EANs, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These UniqueDesignByJason Montessori Baby Rattles are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states although it is always possible these Toy products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, UniqueDesignByJason has recalled all current batch/lots of its Montessori Baby Rattles from the Australian marketplace due to the reported finding that the Toys fail to comply with the requirements of Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

Due to this reported defect, small objects could find their way into a young child’s throat and pose choking and/or suffocation hazards and, if placed in the mouth and/or swallowed, pose serious risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled UniqueDesignByJason Montessori Baby Rattles, please do not use them nor let your children play with or near the Toys. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or online outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat laceration, GI tract laceration damage and/or bowel obstruction.
