US FlagUS/Washington: Mark of Fifth Avenue, a Harriman, New York establishment, recalls an estimated 10,000 Mark of Fifth Avenue branded Children’s Robes from the American marketplace due to suspected violation of US Federal Flammability Standards and consequential risks of burns, scalds, smoke inhalation and/or other life-changing injuries, all serious conditions requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize suffering and prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves seven (7) color/styles of Children’s Robes marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

  • Mark of Fifth Avenue branded Children’s Robes, sold in six children’s sizes: 2, 3-4, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, and 10-12 and in the following seven colors: black, navy, blue plaid, red plaid, red, royal blue, and gray. Each of the Long-Sleeved Robes have two front pockets and two side seam belt loops with a matching belt. The country of origin notification, “Made in China” as well as the composition declaration, “100% Polyester” can be found printed on a sewn-in label in the Robe’s seam.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Children’s Robes fail to meet the US Federal Flammability Standards for Children’s Sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Children’s Robes, please do not use them nor dress your child in them. Instead, kindly take the recalled Robe away from children and contact Mark of Fifth Avenue. Parents and other caregivers can receive a full refund of the purchase price of the garment by cutting the Robe in half, taking a photo of the cut garment and sending the photo by e-mail to mofaproductsafety@gmail.com with your contact details. All known purchasers will be contacted by Mark of Fifth Avenue.
