US FlagUS/Silver Spring: JFC International Inc., a Los Angeles, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Wel-Pac Shrimp Dashi No Moto Soup Stock from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Bonito Fish, Sardine Fish and Tuna Fish, all known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Shrimp Soup Stock products are subject to this recall:

  • Wel-Pac Shrimp Dashi No Moto Soup Stock, packaged in 1.75 ounce boxes; affected batch/lots: all current date codes with a UPC of 0 11152 83660 7

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Wel-Pac Shrimp Dashi No Moto Soup Stock products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US state of Hawaii, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, JFC International has recalled certain batch/lots of Wel-Pac Shrimp Dashi No Moto Soup Stock from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Bonito Fish, Sardine Fish and Tuna Fish. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Soup Stock products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Wel-Pac Shrimp Dashi No Moto Soup Stock products and could be allergic to their Fish ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
