Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Fish Pie products are subject to recall:

  • Waitrose Thrive Fish Pies, packaged in 250 gram cartons with a batch/lot code of L1272 and a best-before end date of March 2023

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, Waitrose & Partners has recalled certain batch/lots of Waitrose Thrive Fish Pie products from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging and consequential undeclared Egg.

This recall was initiated by Waitrose as a result of a reported production error in which some packages contain the company’s Beef Lasagne with Egg entrées, rather than the advertised Thrive Fish Pie meals. Due to the fact that the Beef Lasagne with Egg entrées contain Egg but were sold and distributed in packaging that did not declare the Egg ingredients, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Waitrose Thrive Fish Pies identified above.

==> For information about Egg Allergy, please consult the “Allergens & Intolerances” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Waitrose Thrive Fish Pies and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
