Among the fifty-four (54) recalls the European Union announced in its third report of November 2021, the following recall notification was made:
Adventuridge branded Hiking Baby Carriers sold with a model designation of 804707 and a barcode/EAN of 4088500636680, 4088500636727 or 4088500636758. This recall alert was submitted by Ireland to the EU Safety Gateway under alert number A12/01585/21.
These Adventuridge branded Hiking Baby Carriers are marketed, sold and delivered as assistive devices to personally transport small children while walking or hiking. The products were reportedly sold online as well as in retail stores, possibly including sports and hiking retailers.
No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designations, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.
The type of hazards presented in these recalled Adventuridge branded Hiking Baby Carrier include the reported finding that the Plastic Washer that secures the Child Seat to the Adult Shoulder and Waist Straps may fail. In addition, the Buckle that holds the child in place within the Baby Carrier can also break.
As a consequence, a parent and other caregiver who utilizes any of these recalled Adventuridge branded Hiking Baby Carriers in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use may precipitate falls, laceration, traumatic brain injury (“TBI” or “concussion”), bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury for the carried child.

Due to these defects, these Adventuridge branded Hiking Baby Carriers do not reportedly comply with Europe’s General Product Safety Directive.
As a result of these reported defects, a withdrawal of the Adventuridge branded Hiking Baby Carrier products from the European marketplace has been ordered.
