Canada/Ottawa: Flying Fish Trading Inc., a Surrey, British Columbia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of String Cheese Roll Fish Cake products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Fish Cake products are subject to this recall:

  • Unbranded (Korean characters only) String Cheese Roll Fish Cake (Premium Magnolia Fish Cake), sold in 150 gram packages with a best-before code of 2023-07-22

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Fish Cake products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Fish Cake products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of British Columbia although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Flying Fish Trading has recalled certain batch/lots of String Cheese Roll Fish Cake products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Fish Cake products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Flying Fish Trading String Cheese Roll Fish Cake products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled String Cheese Roll Fish Cake products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
