US/Silver Spring: Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc., a Monterey, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of prepared, washed and ready-to-eat Dole branded Garden Salads, Kroger branded Garden Salads, Marketside branded Classic Salads and Salad Classics branded Garden Salads from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following prepared, washed and ready-to-eat Salads are subject to this recall:

• Dole branded Garden Salads, sold in 24-ounce cello bags with a batch/lot of N28205A or N28205B with a best-if-used-before date of 10-25-21 and a UPC of 0-71430-01136-2
• Kroger branded Garden Salads, sold in 12-ounce cello bags with a batch/lot of N28211A or N28211B with a best-if-used-before date of 10-25-21 and a UPC of 0-11110-91036-3
• Marketside branded Classic Salads, sold in 24-ounce cello bags with a batch/lot of N28205A or N28205B with a best-if-used-before date of 10-25-21 and a UPC of 6-81131-32895-1
• Salad Classics branded Garden Salads, sold in 12-ounce cello bags with a batch/lot of N28211A or N28211B with a best-if-used-before date of 10-25-21 and a UPC of 6-88267-18443-7

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These prepared, washed and ready-to-eat Salads were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of AL, FL, GA, LA, MA, MD, NC, PA, SC and VA although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Dole Fresh Vegetables has recalled certain batch/lots of prepared, washed and ready-to-eat Dole branded Garden Salads, Kroger branded Garden Salads, Marketside branded Classic Salads and Salad Classics branded Garden Salads from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salads identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Please note: while these Salad products are past their stated best-if-used-before date of October 25, 2021, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased any of these products during October 2021, therefore, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled prepared, washed and ready-to-eat Salads, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Salads to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
