Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Big Love Co., an Adelaide, South Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Dummy Chains for Baby Soothers from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Goods (Babies Dummies and Dummy Chains) Safety Standard 2017’, with consequential risks of asphyxiation, choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Dummy Chains for infants are subject to this recall:

  • Big Love Co. Dummy Chains, available in three (3) colours/styles: stone (grey beads), berry (purple beads) and sage (greyish-green beads)

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Dummy Chains are thought to have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states although it is always possible these baby products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Big Love Co. has recalled certain batch/lots of Dummy Chains from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Goods (Babies Dummies and Dummy Chains) Safety Standard 2017’. Specifically, the Dummy Chain may get caught around an infant/child’s throat and pose a strangulation hazard.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Dummy Chains, please do not let your child play with or near them Instead, kindly contact Big Love Co to arrange for a full refund for instructions on how to properly dispose of or destroy the product.

You will be asked to provide a photograph to show that the Dummy Chains, has been disposed of or destroyed. If the product has already been previously disposed of or destroyed, you are asked to notify Big Love Co so that the safe disposal of the products can be monitored.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction.
